Explain service coverage without exposing addresses
Lesson 19 of 24
Publish a fictional service-area example with broad zones, clear limits and contextual links.
Before you start
Continue on the same disposable Cedar Lane Garden Care practice site. Keep real names, customer details and passwords out of this course example. Save a current local restore point before changing shared templates or settings.
- ASSET-WP38-04.png— Original course diagram; not customer work or real service coverage.
1. Start with the fictional-site disclosure
Create a draft Page titled Service area. Add: Cedar Lane Garden Care is a fictional course example and does not claim a real service area. The zones below demonstrate how a small service website can explain broad coverage without publishing a customer’s exact address. Save draft.
2. Describe broad zones and their limits
Add three H2 sections: Practice Zone A — nearby routine visits; Practice Zone B — visits needing timing confirmation; Outside the practice zones — ask before relying on availability. Explain the example response for each without inventing guaranteed availability. Upload the original zone diagram below and caption it Course diagram only — not a real service map. Add guidance to provide a broad area only and leave exact addresses and access codes out of the public Page. Link to the existing Services and Contact Pages. Save draft.
3. Preview and publish the checked local Page
Open the draft preview. Check that the disclosure comes before every zone and that the diagram does not resemble a claim about real geographic coverage. Follow Services and Contact. Return, publish locally and open the normal address signed out.
4. Check phone reading and add contextual links
At390px read the full zone descriptions, diagram caption and privacy guidance. On Services, add links to this Service area Page and the Course example gallery. Save Services and inspect its visitor view. Keep the main Contact route available; these example Pages provide context before an enquiry.
Practise
Create the fictional zone Page, test its preview and phone layout, then add and verify the two contextual links from Services.
Check your result
No real coverage or exact customer location is implied; the disclosure is prominent and the Services, Contact and gallery links work.
If something goes wrong
A diagram looks like a real service map? Replace it with an explicitly fictional diagram and plain zone names. Visitors still provide exact addresses too early? Recheck the Contact/Visit request field labels and guidance as well as this Page.
